May 16th to 20th

Fifth grade are organizing their year end celebration.  We will be having a potluck and are looking for a home with access to a pool where students can relax and have a fun afternoon to end a hard working year.  If your home has a pool or you have access to a recreation area with a pool that we can use, please let Ms. Linh or Ms Nydia know.

A Potluck sign up sheet will be available on Google Drive today.

Only 14 days left of school!

This week:

Math:
Students will continue with Measurement and conversion.  Their Chapter 9 test will be next Wednesday.

Floating and Sinking
Students will continue experimenting with factors that determine what causes an object to float or sink.  They will then conduct their own experiment by designing a vessel that can hold the most weight.

Reading:
Students will continue working on Lit Circles and will be finishing their novels. They will continue working on comprehension strategies as well as reading Salsa Stories and sample memoirs.

Writing:
Students will be working on two memoirs for a scrapbook. We will also be working on writing a letter to the new fifth graders and a video memoir.

We are done with MAP testing!
